Description

Scar is forced out of his pride and joins the hyenas, where he finds out Shenzi and her clan are not the scourge of the pridelands but in fact the reason why the lions are so well fed. He assists Shenzi in a revolution to lift animals out of lion subservience.
Simba is basically a brutish Joffrey, Scar is Tyrian. Scar learns that a picked-on lion like himself has more in common with the hard-working and trodden upon hyenas than his fellow lions. Nala is sent to assassinate him and instead helps him out.
Shenzi is a tough but congenial kind of person. Banzai (now female) is a snappy bitch, with sharp teeth and crass humor. Ed is still Ed. Timon and Pumbaa are looking for a way out of indentured servitude to Simba

I've thought of one for Robin Hood.


Prince John, the young, vulnerable lion prince of England is next in line for the throne after the original heir, John's selfish older brother King Richard, bankrupt and forsook the country to conquer lands that he had more of an interest in ruling. Despite having help from his two loyal servants and friends; the brave, noble wolf Sheriff of Nottingham, and the clumsy-but-sensible snake, Sir Hiss; John has a hard time ruling, and is paying the price for his brother's greed, as the people of Nottingham are against John, putting him with his brother and distrusting him.


And worse, outside Nottingham, Sherwood Forest is inhabited by a gang of outlaws led by the sly, ruthless fox Robin Hood, who is against the monarchy because his former-noble family suffered from the bankruptcy caused by Richard. Robin commits countless attacks and raids on the royal supplies and resources, with the full force of his outlaws, including his second-in-command, a brutish, thuggish bear known as Little John. Robin Hood is also assissted by the corrupt, decadent badger priest Friar Tuck.


As for other characters:


Maid Marian is a femme fatale villain, Robin Hood's lover, and the queen of his Outlaw empire.


Skippy the rabbit is a peasant boy of Nottingham whose family also suffered from the bankruptcy caused by Richard, and he is taken in by Robin, who indoctrinates the young rabbit with radical anti-rich views.


The vultures, Trigger and Nutsy, are comic relief supporting characters who are the Sheriff's right-hand-men.


As for the cockerel, Alan A' Dale, I'm not sure what role he could play.
