@02:12That's stellar - well done! Nice poses, great silhouettes and line of action throughout the whole piece. Love the expressions on both dogs.

I don't usually offer criticism on here, as I really prefer lurking but i really like your piece, and I noticed one quick thing you could do to improve it overall. At around 1:22, you've got the one-eyed dog face-palming, then you've got him face-palming again at 1:47. I think if you change the first face-palm thumbnail at 1:22 to an expression instead, I think that variation will help improve that dog's already great performance. Not to mention it would only be a 5 minute fix for something that recruiters and animation directors/supervisors are probably gonna notice.

Anyway, just my 2 cents. I really like it and the rest of your work on here. Cheers.
Did Concept Design Academy’s “Cinematic Storyboarding” with Jane Wu this past couple months. It was a really engaging class and I came away with a few good projects to show off. This one was easiest to edit together.
The assignment was “there are two people in a waiting room. What happens?”

There’s no sound. It’s just an animatic. Feel free to generate your own sound effects though. Bap, splat, wuff, and yip are good to start with.

How long did this one particular film take to make? You said you collaborated? was it just two of you? also did you use flash and hand draw or computer draw all the images?

This isn't a collaboration, this was 100% me. And I hand-drew the images directly into the computer.
I'd say the boarding took like a couple days and the animatic itself was thrown together in a few hours.

Oh it was just you.  it didn't really take you that long? What program did you use? Its a very impressive piece :)

I believe I did it all in Photoshop. It's not great for boarding in though. Nowadays I use Manga Studio EX5. It handles large sequential files a lot better and the draw tools feel more natural (like if Painttool Sai grew up).
The speed it took me is a bit weird. I'm a fast artist. But also I had boarded professionally before this, so I was just refining skills  for this class. Came out with some good work though and feeling a bit more confident about wanting to do it professionally consistently.

Oh nice! I was considering doing something similar to this as a final for a class I was taking but it was color theory so I would have to take the animation a bit further and she wouldn't let me get away without sound either so Id have to do that as well. Anyway ended up writing a printing a children book lol.

This is an awesome animation you should be very proud! I hope to be able to create something like this in the future myself. I might do it in my spare time over christmas break because I feel like i should be doing something....this is my first weekend without 3 projects to be working on haha!

anyway very impressed with your work :)

I can totally relate to this! My dog just got her eye out the other day, and we all know Dog Hospitals are the least fun.
