Nitrogen Cascade Final Draft

Semi-final draft of the storyboard for my senior thesis, The Nitrogen Cascade. This also functioned as color and style boards. The ribbon-like structure is extremely unconventional, however working in this format helped me better understand how each scene would flow from one to the next without relying on cuts (I was trying to avoid those since this film is meant to be projected on a sphere and I didn't want the image dramatically jumping).

Notice though that this isn't exactly the same as the final product. Originally the narrator (red guy) was supposed to morph from one creature to the next. This idea was scrapped later to save on time and animation (and also because it felt too silly).

This was done almost entirely with watercolor.
