Dog Park 3

Spent several days at the dog park relaxing and drawing the many friendly mutts that came to say hi. This was not a study in drawing dogs anatomically correct or nailing down specific textures and pieces (though that sometimes appears if one sits down long enough). Instead the focus was on how the dogs moved, interacted, and reacted. Dog acting like dogs with other dogs. The results were interesting and it was an awesome excuse to get outside and get some fresh air.

Interesting situation occured that I managed to catch. One dog got in another's face. That second dog snapped and the first dog started to run away. Rather than continue snapping, the second dog whirled around and started snapping at the first dog's hindquarters. The reasoning was simple; this dog didn't want to actually hurt the nosy dog, he just wanted him to get away as quickly as possible. A nip at the butt serves to punctuate the point.
