Description

Infographic-styled character sheet of Corpse Eater for :iconumbagog:

VOICE
Not a huge talker, Corpse-Eater keeps to herself and doesn't engage in conversations. Her ravens chatter more than her, usually bleating out various phrases they've picked up from her or other sentient creatures they've come across. She gets a little frustrated if they start cussing.
If she does talk to you, it'll be as a kind of dry/deadpan joke with no facial expression to reveal whether her statement was intended as such or not. She's unreadable and her body language doesn't tend to reveal her true feelings on anything.

NEEDS/WANTS/FEARS/ISSUES

  • Hates being touched. HATES BEING TOUCHED! Can't stand physical contact from people and certainly not undead. She'll get jumpy and aggressive if you so much as poke her. She's quicker to forgive the transgression from a child though (and wouldn't react violently to one). And she'll never react that way to an animal.

  • Has an innate desire to help people that's stymied by her own prejudices and background. She was an excellent vet and could've been a good human doctor too if she weren't so prickly. She got into wildlife rehabilitation because she could patch things up without dealing with pet-owners.

  • Drawn to children. Had an abortion at 14 (her step-father raped her). Since then she's wondered if that was the only opportunity she had to be a mother, seeing as she's so uncomfortable with any kind of intimacy that the likelihood she'd get pregnant again is slim to none.

  • Incredibly independent, to the point of being stupid about it. Ideally she'd be living in a group situation and, if not for her ravens, Kate would've been forced to confront her social problems. But the ravens are her crutch, not just her guard. She depends on them too much to keep things safe for her, and as a result they drive everything (helpful things even) away.

  • Huge biking fanatic. It's about the only thing she'll get excited about. If you find her journal, you'll discover interspersed among the staccato, academic entries of everyday life occasionally spurts of excited vocabulary detailing a bike part she really wants or picked up.

  • Hums to herself. Listening to the radio was a coping mechanism she relied on during her abusive childhood. She'll hum snippets of pop songs on outings sometimes.

  • Umbagog Lake was her get-away growing up. Her step-mother sent her off to her step-grandmother's cottage (her current residence) when things got a little too severe. Kate would often take a canoe out in the early morning before tourists came in and just drift out to the middle of the lake and ruminate. She'll still do this and it's the only time when she's not completely surrounded by ravens (though Joe and Jane stick by).

  • If you're a dude and you break her personal bubble, she'll take an ax to your crotch. If you're a dude and you come near her at ALL, she'll send the ravens your way. You don't want the ravens sent your way, trust me.

  • Not exactly touchy-feely around women either, but she'd put up with more from them

  • Not doting, but she does take good care of the ravens. They're more affectionate than she and constantly pester and preen at her hoping to "fix" her natty hair or ill-kept outfit. She usually has a few chicks in her cottage she's tending to, making sure they eat enough. She tries not to feed them zombies (afraid of diseases), but the ravens seem pretty hardy against most infections. Besides, they're so easy to collect.

  • Not modest, but then doesn't like showing off her scars and face. The damage invites questions, and she hates answering those questions.

SKILLS/TALENTS

  • She's a horrible shot. Like, pretty damn terrible. She uses an ax not just because it's more practical than a gun, but also because she's got awful aim. She relies entirely on the scope attached to get anything done.

  • Great at patching things up. Corpse-Eater is very resourceful.

  • Medical training (she was a vet) means she's good at patching animals and people up too.

  • Took Tae-Kwon-Do for years, so is a decent martial artist. Not the best (she didn't do it for long enough), but she placed fairly high in a few competitions before she quit. Martial arts aren't terribly useful against the undead, but she got a bold step and some nice moves out of it.

  • Pretty damn strong. She could out-muscle Jack (The Teacher) in a fight. However she probably couldn't overwhelm John (The Preacher) without pulling some moves (and then he's got moves too, being of a military background).

  • Fast. She took track in school and was very good at it. She could outrun most people.

  • Hums, can sing a little. She mostly hums pop songs. The ravens will repeat snippets of bubblegum pop at random.

    • Listened to a lot of radio songs growing up to escape the abuse she suffered. She still hums songs to comfort herself

If she's a biking fanatic, you think she'll be big on motorcycles?
